Constructive criticism is always welcome. It's the best way I know of to improve. Flames are also welcome, tho not appreciated as much.

An Artists Guide for the Artisticly Challenged

Here follows a list of things I've learned over the years. I've compiled it because these are things I wish I'd paid attention to or known when I started drawing. Most of these things will elicit a massive DUH from those who are naturally good at art. The list is by no means comprehensive nor do I claim to be a great artist by compiling this list. It is just a list of things that have helped to improve my artwork over the years.

1.  See the Entire picture - Drawing from detail to detail has helped me produce a lot of badly done pictures over the years. I've known that I needed to look at the entire picture for a long long time and struggled mightily with the concept. Recently I learned that by following a visual figure eight or infinity sign over the picture I am working on I can better keep the big picture in sight.

2. Don't try to save a flawed sketch with detail - Either fix it or bury it and move on. Adding detail will make the flaws a bit less obvious until I'm  done...

3. Facial Expression, Hands, Feet, Posture - Are the most important details when drawing people. There are a lot of good examples in my gallery of things that were drawn without the above details being good. The rest of the details can't save the lack of the other four.

4. More to come....

in the process of renumbering pictures so the most recent is at the top of the stack.

Cool website. I don't know who you are ,but, you have to be cool. Comments from the Artist: hehe Thanks for the ego boost, In my own little world I'm the coolest guy around, but I fear in reality I'm a big ole geek. Doesn't really matter though cause I have fun!

:-) Jeremy Campbell replies: "  Anyone can learn to draw like that, it's somes a long a difficult road, but if you keep doodling and trying to improve you pick up more and more tricks as you go along! (that's me trying to be encouraging? hope it comes across that way!) Other than the fact that the print will be pretty low quality I'm always happy to have more ppl see my work ) "

Wow. I REALLY like your style, it's different. I like to see that you are proficient with both color and B&W pictures. You are very talented and I am pleased that I got to see such nice work.

:-) Jeremy Campbell replies: "  hehe you found the one word that pretty much sums me up... "different""

I really like your art, especially your charatcers and mountain backgrounds. I like your bio pic too. Your characters sometimes have proportion problems, but they look great if I ignore it. I like that you draw muscular warrior women, because it seems like women who really do combat training will have some muscle. (Happened to me when I used to practice karate a lot - I was addicted to karate a few years ago, and I got buffed from it even without working with weights)

:-) Jeremy Campbell replies: "  You've hit on one of the things I really try to avoid, Supermodel looking women. It's really a shortcut, skiny women are easier to draw then shaply women. Just like irl skinny women don't have to work as hard to look good as shaply women. But o when shaply women put in the time and effort be in shape tis far more beautiful than any stick woman can ever be... *drool's like Homer* "

Wow, your the best artist in the world

:-) Jeremy Campbell replies: "while i'd like to believe you I know better, I might be a decent artist by the time I'm 50 or so, that's in about 20 years, but I love creating things so I keep pluggin away... If you want to see someone with talent check out Stephanie Pui Mun Law or any of the artists of the day for that matter..."

I like your art. Do you have anything that looks comical or caribbean?

:-) Jeremy Campbell replies: "There are a few pieces of comic art in my fan art gallery, don’t read a lot of comics anymore but I have very fond memories of comic characters. I’m not sure what caribbean art is, is it a style?"
